I am being very cautious about who has access and who I accept as friends on Social Networking sites. Social networking is riddled with holes, primarily to help target you with info that maybe relevant to you but also for advertising purposes. Criminals and conspirators can use the same systems.

Don't forget, I was recently a victim of a fraud. I was starting a business with a fiancée in the Philippines. There was an underlying art project as a driver for the business. The relationship & relationship's story was a very important aspect to the success. It was intended to being jobs to her home barangay(town district) in Ozamiz, home to the "Darling Bell", on the boarder of the disputed territory between the ARMM & the RPG, also considered to be the second front on the war on terror. It was also meant to develop relationships with craftsman and artists to forward all our careers. It was to take advantage of the internet and the social networking sites.

Enough about political turmoil, economic faux pas and other gruesome realities! Love and Relationships are all that matter; today, I’d like to share a couple of letters and the words of wis-damn I’ve given with the help of my Ph.Care in Applied Animosity.

Case #1: Make Love, Not War!

Hi! I am a young bachelor and I recently met this exotic woman from Mindanao. Her name is Bangs Amoreaux, and she is the type known in pop culture as a MILF, or a ‘Moro I’d love to Front.’ Even if I know about her turbulent history, I still took a chance on her. But now I realized that this affair is a trap! She keeps on demanding so much time from me, asking about silly things ad nauseam, such as my ancestors, totally eating up my domain as an individual. I’ve tried breaking up with her but then she’s got a MOA against me! Like I’ve always feared, she’s raising hell and attacking me and innocent people too! She is a desperate terrorist now all because I wouldn’t agree to her demands, which are all within the MOA. How do I get out of this situation?

Dear Elmo,

You don’t get out of that situation. Be a man and deal with it. Understand that the biggest glitch you’ve committed was having a MOA with her. And this does not ensure protection for either of you; it only causes a bigger war. You tried to define the parameters of your territory, and then you asked for her hand yet she took the entire ARMM! The problem was that she asked too much and you had to give much more than your lawful authority to do so and in patent violation of the Constitution; I mean, of the relation.

The war you are experiencing right now is only the tip of the iceberg and the façade of many past faults. And it will never stop unless right minds with pure intentions from your side and her side come together sans personal agendas and develop something that both sides would benefit from. Don’t let her go; you can’t afford to lose her—she is too rich! I say study everything then come to a compromise; hopefully things will turn out for the good of not just the two of you, but also the rest of us, especially those caught in the crossfire!

A tourist in Ozamiz City should never miss seeing the tower of the four great bells at the top of Bukagan Hill. They are worth the sweat ... Aside from the wonder of the bells one gets a bonus, the beautiful scenarios around including the panorama of Ozamiz.

By July 16, 1948 the inauguration of the bells atop Bukagan Hill took place. Mayor Fernando T. Bernad's guests represented various sectors of the city. Among others, the guests were Bishop Jesus y. Varela (Catholic community), Captain Unte (Islamic community) Bishop Mauricio Serena (Protestant community), Rev. Arturo Bitos (Philippine Independent Church Community), Judge Cerefino Ong (Judiciary), Engr. Ernesto Garces and Engr. Part of the fraud included a computer intrusion that destroyed years of my work -- Artwork, Business info & data, writing, research and more. I am cautious because the computer intrusion was perpetrated through a social networking vehicle I was using.

Social networking and chat programs can be doorways into your computer, mind, and world. Mind you, I was chatting with a trusted person, my fiancée, and so I dropped my precautions, had no fear, she was trusted partner. It was she and her confederates who had a trusted and direct access.

Although, I had a top quality firewall they were able to circumvent it primarily because they had long sustained access to my actual IP address. When my security software would circumvent an attack by shifting the IP address, this change would be reported back to them because they were in communication with me via chat and the chat application needed that info to function.

These people are still lurking about on my periphery. All efforts to get the federal government to take notice of them have been thwarted. The agencies hardly have enough resources to contend with wealthy business concerns, let alone a fairly poor artist of no account engaging in an international relationship with possible petty criminal hackers out of an Asian internet shop – they get 1000 reports of those a day.

I am well documented but they acted like I was not. The authorities didn’t even look at my documentation. They wanted me to bring a civil law suit. In other words, spend tens of thousands of my dollars to do the job of bringing justice to bare.

Don’t forget, when this woman disappeared she left me thinking she had been the victim of foul play, maybe even killed. I had a ticket in hand to come back and get married in the following month of the disappearance. What really happened was she was also a mail-order-bride and she had a ticket to come to the USA to marry another man.

When she disappeared, I was terrified. There I was -- ticket in hand; fiancée has been abducted or killed, possible because of something I did; I had passed on jobs to do the business; I was working hard to reconstruct the four years of work destroyed on my computer; and I was terrified. There she was -- here in the USA planning her wedding with Geoff.

It has been nothing but one horror story after another for the past two & half years since. The residual upset has interfered greatly with my ability to do art and has been very disturbing to all other relations. It has interfered greatly with my job hunt and ability to find a job.

In real terms this was an utter destruction of my whole life. The losses in real money are large but intangible losses are astronomical.

After the disappearance, I was searching desperately because I wanted to be sure that my partner was safe. When I found her, she proposed that we sneak around behind her new husband's back. I lectured her on trust and I was very forgiving. I asked her to help me and agreed that I would just act as a good friend of hers. She proceeded to insult me with more manipulations and lies. I then called the hubby and tried to establish a relationship with him for my good and theirs. I needed to recover the losses and I was thinking that she was just a damsel in distress. I was very nice and very kind about it all. After all, intimidation had been tried and now I was being asked to be a confederate of some kind of fraud, after being defrauded and my computer had been intruded upon , and years and years and 10's of thousands had been lost... I was being really nice! Hi Buko Pie, maybe we can still do something and I can recover from fraud you perpetrated on me and my family. The answer was, let's defraud the new hubby. I said no.

So I am cautious and I am sorry if I get a little paranoid of the applications and their unwanted and uncontrollable access to my friends and data in these social networks. Please forgive me if I express this at times. Aside from the possible criminal use of them, they can also introduce spyware and other things that can also cause a computer to slowdown or even become dysfunctional. There is a lot of fun things to do on the net but sometimes they are just vehicles to introduce targeting mechanisms for advertising and other purposes. These programs may mean well, to give you a better online experience and to help make the net profitable to the people who work hard to make a living there, and that is not a bad thing but as I said, criminals can also use it to be abusive and even destructive. Not to mention poorly programmed spyware have a decided impact on a computer’s performance. I think the companies that employ these things should give warning and access to opt out of them. Given the complexity it’s not that simple. Sometimes people don’t really want to think about all the technical nitty-gritty, they just want to have fun...

The worst has come to pass!

I'm a wreck already from all the worry over the typhoons and the flooding in the Philippines. There are many connections, people, and friends.

The Philippines has been in a state of calamity since October second.

Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) had caused extensive flooding and the scene is horrific and the Philippines devastated. However, a second typhoon threatened to move in, Pepeng.

Pepeng was a super typhoon and went north as we had all hoped it would. However, a third super typhoon, Malor (Quedan) moved in and stalled Pepeng over the northern end of Luzon Island. Then it forced to to backtrack south. It Tracked over Pangasinan and Jabu. I am emotionally devastated!

"There was really heavy rain, so water had to be released from the dam, otherwise it would have been more dangerous," said the government's chief forecaster Nathaniel Cruz. "Even our office was flooded and our staff had to move to the rooftop. It's near the river that they were monitoring."

Under Typhoon Cosme, 2008, Pangasinan
was the most damaged province...
This is where Jabu Lives. I was very concerned.
Two other Typhoons followed also did extensive damage
to Pangasinan.

It's Jabu's Birthday this month, Oct.. Her Nanay
also passed away this month in 2008 :(
It's also our Anniversary. We met Oct. 11, 2007.

I was worried about others too.
Especially Jenny, she is from Pangasinan
and most her family live there.

The loss of life and the economic damage done by
all these typhoons is in the Billions and that's only
what can be counted. Millions of people have been displaced too.
Without Aid there will be more loss of life indirectly and not counted.
These flood and the environment there introduce many hazards,
like mixing of the flood water with sewerage and many other
health risks from simple things like mosquitoes and dengue...
The numbers of people displaced and losses of homes and property
is very high.

They really need help.
I have seen the wrath of a Typhoon, I did not witness
the same kind of flooding here but we were over a week
without power. The wind damage to property was great.
But flooding damage is something to see. The aftermath here
is very stunning and depressing to witness.

So far all my friends in the Philippines appear to be ok, although some may not be in the best of conditions and certainly there has been loss. In May 2008 Typhoon Cosme (Intl. Name Halong) wiped out my good friend Jabu (Janet's Family farm. It also destroyed the Mango plantations and bamboo forests in her region and near regions with account for near half the Philippine's production. It also flooded fish production areas causing deaths, displacement, and economic harm.

It was followed in June 2008 by Typhoon Frank (Intl. Name Fengshen). Which caused extensive flooding in Iloilo and the Bicol region. I have acquaintances who also live in these places. Some areas are still not completely back to normal. Frank also made a direct hit on Jabu (Janet) This was right after Cosme. Frank was responsible for over 1300 deaths and 250,000 people were displaced. 30,000 people spent days on their roofs waiting for help. The ship the Princess Star, a ferry of sorts, capsized on it way out of Manila. About 800 passengers died, mostly by disappearing into the sea.

Ondoy (International Name Katsana) has created extensive flooding in a highly urbanized area. It is densely populated. The rain fall is extraordinary. You need to remember all the other hazards of such a situation. Looting, price gouging, rescue efforts, panic... And lets not forget sewage, and medical needs, transportation problems, to or from... the area's of food production have also been drastically affected. Ondoy was quickly Followed by Pepeng (International Name Parma) This is swelled to super typhoon size and gratefully track to the northern end of Luzon Island. However, Pepeng has an extensive reach and extraordinary rainfall and winds. It is threatening many in the north. To complicate matters a third system has developed and altered the course Pepeng. It is not clear yet but it could double back and even run south towards Manila for a second pass. At the moment I believe it is stalled. Even if it did not track back as far south as Manila, the area could be affected by the rainfall. Not far south of it's location is where Jabu (Janet) lives. She was hit with three fairly destructive typhoons in a year and this could be a fourth.

As the preparation continues, different dams were already opened and tons of water were freed to avoid the overflowing of dams. In Isabela, the Magat Dam released tons of water. Its water will pass through Cagayan River which in preparation, people living nearby the river were evacuated. The Angat Dam in Bulacan was also freed from tons of water, making the barrio of Calumpit and Hagonoy flooded. The local officials took charge to evacuate people living in the area. Five barangays in Nueva Ecija were already flooded due to Pantabangan Dam, which released 250 cubic meters per second from 1pm of October 1, 05:00 (UTC) to 1am of October 2, 17:00 (UTC). Local officials also took charge to evacuate people. In Laguna, the Caliraya Dam also released tons of water to be ready for Parma's heavy rains even though Laguna will not be directly affected by the super typhoon. At the morning of October 2, President Gloria Macapagal - Arroyo declared the whole country under the state of calamity.

Following the devastation and Flooding incurred by Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) the Philippines is in need of help of all kinds. Blood, food, shelter and more. Many people were displaced and the Death tool is over 300. A second Typhoon, Pepeng (Parma) Came shortly afterwords. It has displaced many but thankfully track far north. It is causing heavy winds and rain in the Northern Luzon area and is threatening to make a return pass. I will put more info up later today.

Right now I am too tired. I have been working all night and I need to great a nap, at least. I've been going for 22 hours. It's Nap time.

It's been one hell of a month and I have been very worried
about my friends in the Philippines. They had a very destructive
Typhoon this month. It caused much damage and death in Manila.
It's almost exactly 3 years to the day I was there during
Typhoon Milenyo caused much damage also. The past year has had
a few Typhoons there that have taken a huge toll on life, property,
and the economy. Two of which crossed directly over my good friend,
Jabu. Her families farm was hit hard. More later

I can't access PAGASA's site. (Please don't visit this link till the storm is over, it is vital to the survival of the Philippines and is overloaded now - Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) It is overloaded. I don't want to overload it more.

The eye looks like it's going to go over Jabu in Pangasinan. I hope everything will be ok. These storms really make a mess out of the farms there. This is going to hit Jabu again. This is the 4th Typhoon over her in two years. The Farms were devastated. Whole, Mango and Bamboo forests wiped out. (They account for 1/3 to half the production in the Philippines) The location is also THE MAIN SOURCE of Bangus (Bangus is an unofficial national symbol of the Philippines) and as a source it was very destroyed.

My heart is with all my friends there. It looks like many on Luzon will be affected. Take care and keep safe my friends! I am very worried about Janet and Bianca!

The Philippine National Proverb (Salawikain)

English Translation:
"He who does not (know how to) look back at his past (where he came from) will not reach his destination."

This is the first time I knew that there was a Philippine National Proverb. However it is not the first time I have encountered the concept. I have run into it in different forms in the Philippines but not as a proverb. Just in general conversation and dealings in the Philippines. The idea was very prevalent. It's actually a concept respected everywhere. However, in the Philippines the idea was often referred too in different ways. There was a deep respect for one's roots and knowing them.

Knowing this makes a dramatic shift in how I view many past transactions and the Philippines itself... There's a lot to be said.

Knowing your roots is a significant concept, (and not just the root words that is also part of many languages including the languages of the Philippines,) but to know our own history and the cultural history in which it occurs informs us about out identity. In some ways, our identity is THE destination.

The Novel "Roots: The Saga of an American Family" by Alex Haley, relies heavily on this concept.

Another Salawikain that has me curious and somehow I think it's related here:
"Madali ang maging tao, mahirap magpakatao"
"It is one thing to be a person, to have a personality is another." [1]
"It is easy to be human. It is hard to be humane." [2]
"It is easy to be born a man, but it is difficult to act like one." [3]

When I translate the salawikain, with my limited knowlege of Tagalog and using a dictionary, I read this:
"It is not difficult to become a person, it is difficult [to be] a man (or person). "

The translations such as:
"It is one thing to be a person, to have a personality is another."
Appears to have a subjective interpretation of what being a person or man means beyond merely existing.

Guillermo Estrella Tolentino (1890-1976)

A conservative who belonged to the old school, Guillermo Estrella Tolentino was named National Artist in Sculpture in 1973. More into clay modeling, he was a product of Philippine art’s Revival period, and studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. In 1925, upon returning to the Philippines from Europe, he joined the University of the Philippines School of Fine Arts as a professor. He became its fourth director from 1952 to 1955. There he was mentor to sculptors like National Artist Napoleon V. Abueva.

In 1935, he was commissioned to create the Oblation, which became a symbol of freedom, for the UP. Among his other works are the bronze figure of President Quezon at Quezon Memorial, busts of Jose Rizal at UP and UE, the marble statue of Ramon Magsaysay at the GSIS Building, and granolithics of heroic statues representing education, medicine, forestry, veterinary science, fine arts and music at UP. He also designed the seal of the Republic of the Philippines and the gold and bronze medals for the Ramon Magsaysay Award. However, his masterpiece is the Bonifacio Monument that stands at the intersection of Rizal Avenue and EDSA in Caloocan City. It was completed in 1933 and represents the first encounter between Andres Bonifacio and the Katipunan.

Rajo is a one of the most highly respected and celebrated fashion designers in the Philippines. http://www.rajolaurel.com/ I am a fan of Rajo Laurel's work ever since I encountered his 2007 Igorot collection which he featured at the Bali Fashion Week in 2007. ( I wanted to attend the Fashion Week, was even considered having a wedding there. )

Rajo attended the Cinemalaya opening and was enthralled with the talent he was treated too. Apparently there was a display showing some of the props used in the Films represented this year. I'm delighted by the fact that Rajo found the above props note worthy enough to have photographed them and placed them on his blog. I keep running into him every time I turn around. Congratulations to "Engkwentro" I hope Rajo finally got to see the film! hehehe

I like Pepe and have read some transcripts and articles on his concerns. When I first heard about the movie I was very interested and excited. When I found out that Griska Bianca Balbuena was the Assistant director I was thrilled. You did it! As if attending the Venice Film Festival wasn't wonderful enough. Personally, I think, this year it was an outstanding worldwide representation. The surprise entry of "Lola" by Brillante Mendoza almost stopped my heart from beating! Two Pilipino entries! WOW... I felt Engkwentro had a great chance to take the Orizzoti but now I thought maybe Lola would take the Leone d'Ore and over shadow the Orizzonte. Corazon Aquino Dies - Quo vadis?

Over the past 5 weeks I have been dealing with problems directly related to the fraud. While I was gone, I had no access to the internet or any media. On August 1, 2009 I missed the passing of Corazon Aquino. She is a seminal figure in the restoration of Democracy in the Philippines. My condolences to her family and the Filipino People.

MANILA, Philippines – Former President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino has passed away.

She was 76.

Her son Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III confirmed that she died of cardio-respiratory arrest at exactly 3:18 a.m. Saturday at the Makati Medical Center.
Mrs. Aquino has been diagnosed with colon cancer early in 2008 and has been confined at the Makati Medical Center for more than a month.

Mrs. Aquino, widow of Senator Benigno Aquino Jr., will be remembered as an icon of democracy, having led a military-backed popular revolt in 1986 that ousted a dictator who ruled the country for 20 years.

At about 5 a.m. outside the hospital, Noynoy read a statement announcing the death of his mother.

The statement read:
"Our mother peacefully passed away at 3:18 a.m., August 1, 2009, of cardio-respiratory arrest. “She would have wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers and your continued love and support. It was her wish for all of us to pray for one another and for our country.

“Hinihiling po ng aming pamilya ang kaunting panahon para makasama namin ang aming mahal na ina.

“Later today, we will be announcing further details of her wake para sa lahat ng ating mga minamahal na kababayan na nais magbigay ng respeto sa aming ina. Maraming salamat po.”

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo expressed her condolences to the family of the former President, Arroyo's press secretary said.

The President is set to declare a week of national mourning, said Press Secretary Cerge Remonde in a live phone patch from the US where he is accompanying Arroyo who is on official visit there.

Remonde said the President could cut short her trip but that they were going to discuss the matter when they get to New York, their next stop after Washington D.C. where she met President Barack Obama at the White House.

Arroyo is expected to be back in Manila on August 5.

Remonde also said that under the law, all presidents were entitled to a state funeral but added that this would be subject to the family's approval.

Popular TV host Boy Abunda, a close friend of the Aquino family, told reporters on Saturday that the Aquinos were praying the Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary when Cory gave her "last deep breath.”

Abunda said all five children of Mrs. Aquino, and her close friends and relatives were at her bedside when the former leader passed away.

After that last breath, Abunda said, Mrs. Aquino's children quietly cried.

"Malungkot. Tahimik na nag-iiyakan. Tahimik, except for Kris who was very quiet," he said, referring to the youngest daughter of Mrs. Aquino.

"Kris was very quiet. She was displaying such courage pero noong dindadala palabas mga labi ni Tita Cory... because you have to remember that Kris was in the hospital, Kris was by the side of her mother since July 20 hanggang sa mga oras na yun. Hanggang ngayon si Kris ay nasa tabi ng kanyang ina," Abunda said.

He said a Mass, officiated by Fr. Catalino Arevalo, was held after Mrs. Aquino's death.
Abunda said Arevalo is a very close friend of the former leader and had been officiating a Mass for her at the hospital.

A family driver of the Aquinos was seen loading stuff into a white Toyota Hi-Ace van parked at the back entrance of the hospital. As you may know I love the Philippines! What you might not know is that I love it for more than just the Buko Trees, Volcanoes, beautiful beaches and Women! I love the art scene, the culture, the people in general, and more! I also really love Angelina and Yaya from "Ang Spoiled" LOL I love the Bubble Gang! I love their sense of humor and aesthetic sense at all levels. I wish I knew Tagalog and Baysian better

I do not rest!

It's been more than two years since the fraud became obvious to me and the destruction and cost is still escalating. I do not go a minute of my life without being upset to levels that are unhealthy for any human being. The harm done to me is great and here goes another day of lost and anger beyond what any one person should be allowed to endure. As far as I am concerned these crimes are still on going. I am very upset. Just know that until these criminals are put in jail or I have sued them for all they own, I will continue to be upset. If you read here that I am happy today it is happy that sits on top of extreme upset. It is a smile that has risen above a mountain of anger and upset. Until you read here that the criminals that did this to me have been brought to justice, you can just assume that I am upset.

What is worth noting is that political debate and much debate for that matter is not based in any logic with human beings. What a surprise! I am being sarcastic.

It is a fact that many people take a firm position and work backwards to selectively find evidence that supports their strongly held position or belief.

To evaluate objectively, a rational person would would weigh the pros and cons of a choice. According to Steve Hoffman, a visiting professor of sociology at the University of Buffalo, humans are not so rational.

"People get deeply attached to their beliefs," Hoffman said. "We form emotional attachments that get wrapped up in our personal identity and sense of morality, irrespective of the facts of the matter."

And to keep our sense of personal and social identity, Hoffman said, we tend to use a backward type of reasoning in order to justify such beliefs.

Similarly, past research by Dolores Albarracin, a psychology professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, has shown in particular that people who are less confident in their beliefs are more reluctant than others to seek out opposing perspectives. So these people avoid counter evidence all together.

Just about everybody is vulnerable to the phenomenon of holding onto our beliefs even in the face of iron-clad evidence to the contrary, Hoffman said. Why? Because it's hard to do otherwise. "It's an amazing challenge to constantly break out the Nietzschean hammer and destroy your world view and belief system and evaluate others," Hoffman said.

Well I just want to say, the people who committed fraud against me and the families involved have seen a bit of my evidence. You can come to no other conclusion except that a fraud was perpetrated against me and in the face of such evidence the family has joined the woman and family that committed these crimes against me in conspiracy against me. I maintain that since the situation was not rectified by them in a fair and equitable way the family members of her husbands are direct participants in the fraud and it's cover up. I consider this crime still on going and I consider the participants criminals in a conspiratorial manner. They are all subject to law suits and criminal charges. Regardless of their illogical processing of the facts.

This young lady talked about scams, immigration, sex and other scams. One scam she mentioned to me was finding a man in the US to marry, and having a baby. This insured her immigration and claim to his property. Now she told me she wasn't running any such scams, we were to marry and build a business together. She was all on board with that till she disappeared and showed up in the USA married to another man. Apparently he and I were not the only ones she was scamming either. But the fact is she committed the fraud and scams. She promptly had a baby and now the family is all concerned about the baby. See she had a baby to insure her claims and is using the baby to rally conspiratorial support against me. If you ask me, this is very criminal and she is dragging others into her crimes.

My upset is daily on going. Just know that till justice is done in this case it's underlying everything for me. Even my smiles.
